Senda Litoral boardwalk — Mijas Costa

A flat wooden boardwalk that hugs the Mijas Costa shoreline for kilometres, linking La Cala's beaches with quiet coves, chiringuitos and the old watchtowers. Walk or cycle as far as you fancy and hop down onto the sand whenever a spot takes your eye. It's part of the Senda Litoral project that will one day run the whole length of the Málaga coast.
Simon's tip
Start at the Torreón in La Cala and head east towards Calahonda for the prettiest stretch — go early or at sunset in summer, there's no shade. Plenty of chiringuitos on the way for a stop.
