Tolox morning — charcos & lunch at La Alberca

PlanSpringSummerHalf day31 min drive · 27 km

A mountain-village morning done properly. Drive to Tolox for around 10am, park at the trailhead, and walk the river past the charcos — the man-made bathing pools — swimming as you go, until you reach the Charco de la Virgen and its waterfall. Then wander back into the village for a late, lazy lunch of fried fish and tapas on La Alberca's shaded terrace, with the rear tables looking over the whole town.

Simon's tip

Water shoes for the charcos, and get to La Alberca before the 2pm local rush — weekend queues are real.
